Mark Garcia is recognized and respected as one of the leading musical theatre voice teachers in Germany. The American tenor was born and educated in California where he received a Bachelor of Music Degree in Vocal Performance from California State University, Fullerton. He later received a music scholarship from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles where he studied for his Master of Music Degree in Vocal Performance. During his University studies, he sang with the Fullerton Civic Light Opera, the Los Angeles Music Center Opera, Opera Pacific, the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra and the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra working with such noted conductors as Carlo Maria Giulini, Helmut Rilling, John Mauceri and Plácido Domingo.

Singing Engagements

His first European opera engagement was in 1992 at the Hessischen Staatstheater Wiesbaden, followed by guest engagements with:

  • The Frankfurt Kammeroper
  • Opera Denboraldia in Bilbao, Spain
  • The Hannoversche Hofkappelle in Schloss Herrenhausen, Hannover
  • The Wüttembergische Staatstheater Stuttgart

Commitment to Teaching

Throughout his performing career, Mark Garcia has maintained a busy private voice studio. His commitment to training young singers in excellent vocal technique in all vocal genres and styles is based in his own traditional classical voice training and extends further into musical, pop, rock and “belting” techniques.
